Journalists and students are invited to this event.
The 2019 Piauí Festival will take place Oct. 5 and 6 in São Paulo. This years' topic is "when the press becomes the enemy."
The program includes talks with international journalists on political polarization, the advance of authoritarianism, obstacles to freedom of the press around the world and hostility against journalism.
Among the journalists are Jane Mayer of The New Yorker, Carlos Fernando Chamorro of Nicaragua's Confidencial, Tamás Bodoky of Hungary's Atlatzo, Ivan Golunov of Russia's Meduza, and more.
Registration is open, but spots are limited. The cost varies from BRL280 to BRL800. There are discounts for students and Piauí subscribers.
