Independent journalism training in Northeastern region [Brazil]

Journalists and journalism students based in Northeastern Brazil can apply for this course.

News organization Marco Zero Conteúdo, in partnership with Pernambuco Catholic University, is hosting an online course on the challenges and solutions for independent journalism in the Northeastern region.

There are 30 places available: 25 for journalists working either at independent media organizations in the region or in organizations listed on the Grassroots and Independent Media Map of Pernambuco, and five for journalism students in their senior year.

Classes will be live and online, through June and July, and will cover topics such as entrepreneurship and media business management.

Upon finishing the course, participants will be able to apply for mentorship and grants.

Application deadline is June 9.
