Journalists, researchers and communications professionals can apply for this program.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in partnership with the Serrapilheira Institute, is seeking candidates with reporting projects that investigate scientific disinformation to take part in the Disarming Disinformation "Investigathon."

The selected candidates will get mentorship to improve their research, collaboration and distribution strategies for their news content.

The Investigathon will take place in the United States in April 2023, immediately before the International Symposium on Online Journalism (ISOJ), at the University of Texas. The program will cover the costs of airfare and lodging during both the Investigathon and ISOJ.

Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their projects for funding, and up to three participants will receive grants of up to US$10,000 to produce and publish their projects.

The initiative is part of the global Disarming Disinformation program, launched by ICFJ with the Scripps Howard Foundation, and aims to support journalism that reveals the people and money behind disinformation campaigns.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 5, 2023.
