Data and investigative journalists around the world can apply for scholarships to participate in a training program.
With funding from the Scripps Howard Foundation, the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) is offering full scholarships for the University of Maryland’s (UMD) elite Howard Center Data Journalism Training Program.
The program includes four online courses and a final project that will equip participants with the skills to do hard-hitting data journalism. The first two courses will be made available in August 2025, and the remaining two courses, along with the final project, will be available in January 2026.
Scholarship recipients will also participate in monthly ICFJ-led virtual discussions to connect with fellow international journalists and meet with prominent speakers from the field.
Applicants must have at least five years of investigative journalism experience. Freelance journalists can also apply.
The deadline is Aug. 10.
