Investigative journalists based in the Americas who are fighting mis/disinformation can apply for a master class series.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in partnership with the Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, will offer four online master classes on “Disarming Disinformation in the Americas.”

The classes will be taught by award winning journalists Claire Wardle, Craig Silverman, Giannina Segnini and Patrícia Campos Mello.

The master classes will be held Nov. 17 to 18. The courses will be available in English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Participants who attend all four master classes will receive a certificate and be invited to pitch investigative story ideas to ICFJ on who/what finances disinformation in the Americas.

Authors of the top 15 proposals will participate in a face-to-face “investigathon” in the United States in April 2023. They will receive grants and mentorship to execute their investigations and publish their content.

The deadline is Nov. 15.
