Journalists who cover news in areas of the United States where resources are scarce can apply for a fellowship at Harvard.

The Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard will select up to three candidates for the Abrams Nieman Fellowship.

Fellows will spend two semesters at Harvard courses, followed by up to nine months of fieldwork at their home news organization.

Candidates must have at least five years of journalism experience. Print, radio, TV and online journalists, as well as freelancers, are all eligible.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 18.
