Guardian Australia is seeking a deputy editor to join its rural network to support the rural network editor in commissioning, editing and producing stories. Ideally, this role will be based in New South Wales or Victorian rural locations, but candidates based in Sydney or Melbourne will also be considered.
The deputy editor will work closely with the rural network editor to identify and commission nationally important rural and regional news stories from New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, plan coverage of rural issues and commission stories, and write rural stories.
Interested candidates should have excellent knowledge of rural and regional issues, solid journalistic experience and enthusiasm for collaborating on video, audio, interactive and new forms of content.
