Journalists with at least two years of experience can apply for these grants.
Jeduca, the Association of Education Journalism in Brazil, is seeking story pitches on education.
Candidates must submit a project schedule for a story or a series of stories on education and a letter from the editor who will publish the story.
Due to the increased number of attacks in Brazilian schools lately, stories focused on education inequalities and the culture of peace will be given priority. However, journalists are encouraged to pitch other themes.
Six journalists will be granted BRL8,000 to work on the stories.
The application deadline is July 7.
