Journalists based in the United States can apply for grants up to US$10,000 to investigate chronic inequities in the health care system.

The USC Annenberg Center for Health Journalism is offering the California Health Equity Impact Fund. The fund will support ambitious investigative or explanatory projects that bring to light untold stories about the systemic issues that stand in the way of good health for California families and communities.

In addition to the grant, journalists will receive five months of mentoring by veteran journalists.

Grantees will also participate in monthly online development and brainstorming sessions with other participating journalists. The program will take place Jan. 16, 2023 to June 16, 2023.

The application deadline is Nov. 18.
