Journalists based in Southern African countries are eligible for investigative reporting grants.
Oxpeckers is accepting applications from journalists to produce data-driven investigations on green energy initiatives in the Southern African region.
Investigations must focus on an issue/s related to the climate crisis in Southern Africa; include data; and track information on green energy projects, their status, costs, who is funding them, their carbon footprint and mitigation value.
Journalists from the following countries in Southern Africa are eligible to apply: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zambia or Zimbabwe.
Successful applicants will also receive in-depth training.
The deadline is June 30.
