Arab fact-checking institutions are encouraged to apply for these grants.

The Arab Fact-Checkers Network (AFCN), as part of the “Sa7” project, supported by the French Media Development Agency (CFI), is offering grants to fact-checking institutions.

This opportunity offers grants ranging from US$2,000 to US$8,000 (tax included) per institution, to be used over a seven-month period from June 1 to December 31. Funds should be allocated to support fact-checking operations and the long-term sustainability of each organization.

A selection committee will assess all submitted proposals and announce the selected grantees in May.

Fact-checking institutions must meet several criteria, including  publishing fact-checking reports on a consistent basis with content relevant to their country of operation, providing financial compensation to full-time or part-time fact-checkers and being an official member of the AFCN community with a signed memorandum of understanding.

The deadline is April 26.
