Journalists based in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru may apply for this opportunity.
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network and the Internews Americas team are offering story grants to strengthen journalists' capacities to produce high-quality, factual and engaging stories on the impacts of conservation crimes, biodiversity loss and the impact of climate change in the Western Amazon.
To apply, candidates must submit a reporting project focusing on threats to biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods due to activities such as illegal logging, unsustainable fishing, wildlife trafficking and illegal mining. Proposals for solutions-oriented stories are also welcome.
Grants ranging from US$5,000 to US$15,000 will be awarded.
The deadline is March 9.
