Aspiring storytellers ages 14 and older can enter this contest.
The 2020 Girl Rising Storytelling Challenge is looking for stories of how individuals, groups and organizations are working to support racial justice, gender justice, access to education or helping their communities during the pandemic.
Contestants must submit a video/audio (2 minutes maximum); an essay, poem or song (500 words maximum); photos (up to three photos); or artwork (up to three digital images).
The stories can be in any language but should English subtitles or translation.
The authors of the best 15 stories will receive US$500 and their work will be showcased at the Girl Rising International Day of the Girl celebration in October.
The deadline has been extended to Sept. 8.
