Journalists in Brazil can take this online course for free.
The Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) offers a free online course on physical safety for journalists.
The course was designed by RPS Training Solutions, an English company focused on protection, safety and medical training, and the classes were first offered to a cohort of 50 journalists last June.
The five classes are now available on YouTube. The course program addresses topics such as planning and preparation; surveillance; first-aid; bulletproof vest and weapons; and conflict management.
Classes are self-paced.
