Advanced science students interested in journalism can apply for this summer fellowship.

The American Association for the Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) organizes the AAAS Mass Media Science and Engineering Fellowship.

The fellowship aims to bridge the gap between scientists and journalists by placing advanced science, engineering and mathematics students at media organizations such as National Public Radio, Los Angeles Times, WIRED, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and NOVA.

The program, scheduled for June 2 to Aug. 17, 2021, starts with an orientation in Washington.

Fellows receive US$7,000 and travel.

The deadline has been extended to Jan. 3, 2021.
