Afghan women journalists and media workers in exile in the United States can participate in a fellowship.
The International Women’s Media Foundation is launching the pilot program Reclaiming Futures, a fellowship program for Afghan women journalists in exile. This program is designed in partnership with Sahar Speaks.
For six months, the program will support a small cohort of Afghan women reporters and media employees who have been forced into exile since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in summer 2021.
Successful applicants will participate in an in-person retreat, mentorship and peer networking activities, monthly group calls, and will have the opportunity to apply for a competitive fund for reporting and professional development activities.
Fellows will also have the opportunity to meet and learn from media experts and senior journalists working in different fields.
The deadline is May 20.
