Excellence in Journalism Award seeks entries [Guinea]

Applicants must be residents of Guinea and have published their articles in either French or English during the 2023 calendar year.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Guinea, is pleased to introduce the Excellence in Journalism Award in Guinea.

This award aims to acknowledge independent journalists who demonstrate excellence through impactful and innovative reporting that enlightens communities and holds public officials accountable. The competition is open to participants from newspapers, magazines, radio and TV stations, news agencies, independent producers and online news sites.

Recipients of the award will be granted a special invitation to participate in an intensive three-day, in-person journalism training program scheduled to take place in Guinea in 2024. Additionally, winners will be eligible to receive a US$1,000 reporting grant and individual mentoring throughout their reporting projects.

The submission deadline for entries is Jan. 12, 2024.
