Journalists and teams of journalists can be nominated for cash prizes.
The Knight Foundation is accepting nominations for the Esserman-Knight Journalism Awards. The program celebrates and encourages outstanding investigative and public service reporting in South Florida.
Up to three articles or series of related articles on a single topic are eligible for nomination. Entries must be published or broadcast in 2023 and focus on original investigative or public service reporting from Miami-Dade, Broward or Monroe counties.
Works do not need to be published or broadcast by an organization based in South Florida.
Winners receive a US$10,000 first prize, US$5,000 second prize and US$1,000 honorable mention prizes.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 12. Self-nominations are not accepted.
