Emerging photographers can apply for this fellowship and receive a US$5,000 grant to support their projects.
Art Work Projects (AWP) is offering the Emerging Lens Fellowship, its signature project, designed to create a network of support for emerging photographers in hopes of creating greater accessibility to the field while making their work and the issues they highlight visible through public exhibitions in spaces nontraditional for documentary photography.
Fellows will complete projects featuring underrepresented communities, with a focus on fresh narratives and first-person storytelling. Fellows will also display their work at an exhibition and receive mentorship.
To apply, fellows must submit a project proposal addressing an issue that is relevant, timely and applicable to AWP’s mission.
The application deadline is Oct. 1.
