Journalists and storytellers in East Africa can attend a hybrid storytelling festival.
Media Futures East Africa is hosting the EAST Festival 2022 (East Africa Storytelling Festival). The festival aims to ask how journalism in East Africa can sustain productive public conversations, nurture responsible civic responsibilities and help the citizenry address challenges they face and seize the opportunities they have.
The festival will celebrate redefined roles of journalism in the region, interrogate media structures and routines in the wake of the complex and disrupted media ecology and explore the emergent storytelling that innovatively involve communities.
This hybrid event will be held Nov. 9 to 11. In-person sessions will be held at the MCI Media Hub, Tirupati Mall Kabalagala, Kampala, Uganda.
Registration for the virtual sessions is free and ongoing.
