Journalists from select economies in Asia Pacific can compete for an award and a US$1,000 cash prize.

With the support of The Rockefeller Foundation, the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is organizing the Developing Asia Journalism Awards (DAJA), an initiative to promote works of journalism that accurately report on global efforts advancing sustainable development amid intensifying climate risks.

The awards is seeking the region’s journalists to submit stories on one of three topics in connection with climate change: food security; health preparedness and resilience; and macrofinancial stability.

The journalist or the main author must be a citizen of an Asian Development Bank member economy.

DAJA only accepts text-format articles in English. Only articles that appeared in a regularly published newspaper, magazine, wire service or news site between Jan. 1, 2023 and Feb. 29, 2024 are eligible.

Authors of up to four selected articles will be invited to an award ceremony in Tokyo in May to receive a certificate and a US$1,000 cash prize.

Apply by March 1.
