The Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources is organizing the virtual workshop "Covering environmental racism" 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST on March 3.
Participants will learn how race-based housing discrimination shaped U.S. cities and led to many of its current environmental injustices; hear from experts about how to better report on these issues; meet citizen activists; discuss the challenges lax environmental regulations bring to these efforts; and explore journalism’s role in perpetuating and challenging stereotypes.
Registration is free. There are 25 spots available.
The deadline is Feb. 17.
