Journalists who want to cover COVID-19 within their own communities can apply for this fund.
National Geographic offers the COVID-19 Emergency Fund for Journalists.
The fund ranges from US$1,000 to US8,000 for local coverage of the preparation, response and impact of the global coronavirus pandemic.
Proposals must emphasize delivering news to underserved populations, particularly where there is a dearth of evidence-based information getting to those who need it. Local and even hyper-local distribution models are encouraged.
All materials must be in English.
The deadline is Nov. 15.
