Aspiring data journalists in the United States can apply to attend this free event.
The Ida B. Wells Society for Investigative Reporting and the Center for Journalism and Democracy are organizing the Data Institute, July 8 to 19 at Howard University in Washington.
This two-week program will cover the basics of brainstorming, reporting, designing and building interactive graphics and data-driven news applications.
Applicants must be Ida B. Wells Society members. Membership is free and available here.
Participants will receive a US$1,000 stipend.
The deadline is April 25.
