Course on public spending available in self-directed format [Brazil]

The Knight Center for Journalism in the Americas, in partnership with Associação Contas Abertas and with support from the Google News Initiative, presents the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), "On the digital trace of public money: How to inspect federal, state and municipal expenditures" in Portuguese.

The training, which first ran Sept. 7 to Oct. 4, is now available as a self-directed course.

Topics include basic techniques of the data reporting workflow, the most common problems in each of these steps and possible solutions.

The instructors are Gil Castello Branco and Carlos Blener, both from Associação Contas Abertas, and journalist Natália Mazotte

The training is free and accessible to anyone anywhere in the world with access to the internet.
