Professional journalists and students are invited to submit articles or videos/multimedia to this contest.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is accepting entries for its 2024 Global Media Competition on Labour Migration and Fair Recruitment.

The contest aims to promote quality reporting on labor migration issues, ensuring greater public awareness about the contributions migrant workers bring to communities and contributing to the elimination of public misperception, xenophobia and discrimination against migrant workers.

Written press, photo essay, multimedia, video and/or radio are eligible but must have been published or aired between Oct. 31, 2023 and Oct. 31, 2024. Entries in languages other than English, French and Spanish must include a translation.

The competition has a student category and three professional categories. The winners will be able to choose between US$1,200 in the professional category and US$500 for the student category or a paid fellowship to participate in an ITC-Turin course on a fair recruitment or labor migration topic in 2025.

The deadline is Oct. 31.
