Ugandan journalists can enter a contest and compete for cash awards.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority, supported by WildAid, is accepting entries for the Uganda Conservation Media Awards. The contest seeks to encourage, motivate and interest journalists to give due consideration to conservation issues.
Journalists can submit works in four categories: community conservation, wildlife protection, wildlife crime, and habitats and environment.
Stories published between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024 are eligible for entry.
In each category, separate awards will be given for print/online, radio and TV submissions. A separate award will be given for the Uganda Wildlife Photograph of the Year.
Winners will receive UGX5,000,000, a winner’s plaque and free entry to Uganda’s national parks for one year.
The deadline is June 30.
