Indian communicators from Maharashtra who are interested in renewable energy can apply for the workshop.
Internews’ Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is hosting a three-day workshop on renewable energy in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad) from Oct. 5 to 7. The workshop aims to improve public awareness of India's ambitious energy targets and the progress made thus far.
Selected participants will engage with communicators, researchers, subject experts, policymakers and communities, and gain knowledge and deepen their understanding of the promises and obstacles in the road ahead as India, and specifically Maharashtra, strives to increase the percentage of renewable energy in its total energy mix.
The workshop will include a field trip to a location with a renewable energy facility. The organizers will cover the cost of travel, accommodation and meals of selected participants.
Interested applicants must have prior experience reporting on scientific and/or environmental topics, and be able to communicate in English and/or Marathi. Call for applications is also available in Marathi.
Apply by Aug. 18.
