Committee to Protect Journalists seeks Head of Programs [MENA]

Experienced journalists in the Middle East can apply for this full-time, hybrid job.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent, non-profit organization defending journalists worldwide regardless of their political ideology, is seeking a Head of Programs to oversee the MENA Program’s advocacy, assistance, research, and reporting on press freedom violations and attacks throughout the Middle East and North Africa.

Successful candidates will provide leadership and oversight of all aspects of CPJ’s work in the region and will lead the MENA Program’s work with national, regional and international partners.

Applicants should have at least 15 years of experience in reporting or advocacy across the MENA region, and a deep understanding of how media works and its specific freedom challenges in the region.

In addition, applicants should have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and they must be proficient in Google Workspace applications.
