Columbia University hosts seminar on early childhood [Brazil]

Managing editors, editors-in-chief and news beats editors anywhere in Brazil can apply to attend this seminar.

The Maria Cecilia Souto Vigigal Foundation, in partnership with the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism is seeking Brazilian editors for their first Columbia University Seminar on Early Childhood in Brazil.

The event's goal is to enhance the health, education, politics, societal issues and economics news coverage from the perspective of children aged zero to six years.

Up to 16 or 18 editors from all over Brazil will be selected to attend the seminar. Selection criteria include professional experience, commitment to an innovative news coverage of the early childhood, and the presence of different media outlets, ranging from legacy to independent and local.

The program will cover all expenses with transportation, accommodations and meals during the seminar.

The seminar will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Aug. 23 to 25.

The application deadline is April 26.
