Climate Bootcamp for young journalists [Philippines]

Posted on Aug 11, 2023 in Environmental Reporting

Students and aspiring journalists based in the Philippines can apply for this fellowship.

In collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Manila, Climate Tracker Asia is launching its #NextGenClimateBootcamp. This is a fellowship program to equip young and aspiring journalists, 18 to 25, with the tools for climate reporting.

Selected fellows will participate in discussions, interactive workshops, and practical exercises as they explore the fundamentals of journalism and dive deep into climate-specific reporting techniques. They will also be part of a vibrant community where they can collaborate with other fellows, discuss story ideas, and brainstorm innovative approaches to reporting.

Fellows will receive a stipend, personalized and group training from Climate Tracker mentors, and the opportunity to attend a four-day in-person bootcamp on investigative skills and collaborative storytelling.

Interested applicants can register for a virtual Q&A session to learn more about the fellowship program on Aug. 16.

Apply by Aug. 20.
