Print and digital news organizations, and radio and TV stations in Brazil can apply for this program.
Google News Initiative, in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Digital Journalism (Ajor), is accepting applications for its GNI Local Lab Brazil, which aims to build a more sustainable and professional news ecosystem in Brazil. The program will offer business training for small and medium-sized news organizations from across the country.
Eligible media outlets must be operating at least for the past 12 months and have two to 100 journalists in their teams. GNI Local Lab will select 100 news organizations that will get training and technical support to enhance their digital revenue streams and audience engagement.
The program will run August 1, 2022 to April 31, 2023.
Application deadline is June 26.
