Young journalists from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Croatia and Montenegro can participate in a workshop.

The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) is organizing the Workshop for Visual Storytelling Using War Crime Archives. The workshop offers an introduction to visual storytelling practices and the role of domestic and international courts’ war crime trial archives in the transitional justice process.

Participants will also learn how to create a safe, non-partisan and compassionate space for victims to share their stories in a short video format. Upon successful completion of the workshop, participants will receive funding and mentorship.

Ten participants, ages 18 to 30, will be selected for the two-day workshop that will be held Oct. 13 to 14 in Sarajevo. Students and activists can also participate in the workshop.

The best five applicants will be selected for a one-month exchange program in 2023 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The deadline is Sept. 12.
