Journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean can register for this online training in Spanish.
UNESCO organizes the two-day course "Journalism and technology: beyond the screens", led by Argentine journalist and political scientist Natalia Zuazo.
Participants will learn keys to write in-depth stories about technology as well as get an understanding of the technical functioning of the Internet, how its infrastructure affects its policies, and how algorithms affect society and its choices, among other topics. Participants will also have the opportunity to work on their own stories.
The training for Central America will take place on Aug. 7 and 8. Training for Ecuador and Peru will take place on Aug. 19 and 20, and for Colombia and Venezuela on Sept. 2 and 3.
