The Berlin Prize calls for fellowship applications [US]

Journalists who are U.S. citizens and permanent residents are invited to apply for residential fellowships in Berlin, Germany.

The American Academy in Berlin seeks to enrich transatlantic relations in the arts, humanities, social sciences and public policy through the development and communication of projects of the highest scholarly merit. The Academy awards 24 Berlin Prize fellowships annually.

Fellowships are typically awarded for an academic semester. Benefits include round-trip airfare, partial board, a $5,000 monthly stipend and accommodations at the Academy’s lakeside Hans Arnhold Center, in the Wannsee district of Berlin. 

Journalism candidates must have professional experience and a strong work portfolio.

The application deadline is Sept. 27.
