Individuals and media organizations based in the United Sates are eligible for an award.
Penn State’s Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications is accepting entries for the Bart Richards Award for Media Criticism. The award recognizes distinguished contributions to the improvement of print and broadcast journalism through responsible analysis or critical evaluation.
Entries may include constructively critical articles, books, and electronic and online media reports; academic and other research; and reports by media ombudsmen and journalism watchdog groups. Entrants are judged by professionals from journalism and journalism education.
Works published in 2024 are eligible for entry.
The winner will receive a US$2,500 honorarium and is expected to attend the award ceremony in September 2025.
The deadline is Jan. 31, 2025.
