Filmmakers worldwide can compete for cash prizes.

Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity is organizing the Banff Mountain Film Competition. The competition is a program of the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival, which brings together the best films and books on mountains and the spirit of adventure from around the world.

Films produced in 2022, 2023 and 2024 are eligible for submission.

Applicants can submit films in several categories: climbing, mountain sports, mountain culture, environment, snow sports, and adventure.

If English is not the original language of the film, it must be entered into competition with burned-in English subtitles, or be dubbed in English. Subtitles must be part of the video image.

Entry fees range from CAD40 (US$29) to CAD90 (US$65).

The grand prize winner will receive CAD5,000 (US$3,628). Winners for the best film in each category will receive CAD3,000 (US$2,177).

The deadline is Aug. 1.
