Climate journalists around the world can submit stories and compete for cash prizes.
The European Journalism Centre, in partnership with the Google News Initiative, is accepting entries for the Climate Journalism Award. The award will promote and recognize exceptional climate journalism that adopts an innovative or original storytelling approach, encouraging journalists to prioritize reporting on climate-related issues.
Stories can be submitted in five categories: data-driven visualization; storytelling and solutions; fighting climate misinformation; investigative reporting; and emerging talent.
Submitted stories must have been published in a European-based publication between June 1, 2023 and May 31, 2024.
Winners in each category will receive EUR2,400 (US$2,580).
The deadline is July 5.
