Student journalists involved or interested in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community can apply for these scholarships.
The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is offering multiple scholarships for student journalists in the U.S.
The White House Correspondents’ Association Scholarship, jointly offered with White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA), will provide a $2,000 scholarship to be used for tuition, room and board, books, and other educational expenses, mentorship from members from the White House press corps, and the opportunity to attend WHCA events.
The Vincent Chin Memorial Scholarship will award $1,500 to a student journalist for an insightful essay related to Vincent Chin’s life, death and legacy.
The Mary Quon Moy Ing Memorial Scholarship will award $2,000 to a graduating high school senior who will be attending a college or university to pursue a journalism career.
The CIC / Anna Chennault Scholarship will award $5,000 to an Asian American graduate student pursuing journalism as a career. The selected student will receive travel, lodging and registration to attend AAJA’s national annual convention and a mentor for the convention.
Interested applicants should be AAJA members and can demonstrate their commitment to journalism and/or sensitivity to AAPI issues.
