Journalists who have published stories on AAPI issues can nominate themselves and compete for a US$5,000 cash prize.
The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is hosting the AAJA-Medill Innovation Award which honors journalism that approaches issues related to Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community in a fresh and innovative way.
A US$5,000 cash prize will be awarded to a professional working in journalism for their work the year prior. The recipient will also receive a US$500 travel stipend to attend AAJA’s annual convention. The cost of the award recipient’s convention registration will also be waived.
The winner will be chosen by the AAJA Governing Board based on the quality of any published work, journalistic achievement, commitment to the field of journalism and sensitivity to AAPI issues.
Interested nominees must have a current AAJA membership and be committed to AAJA’s mission. Self-nomination is accepted.
