Asian journalists interested in incorporating gender-sensitive reporting in their work can download this free resource.
The Asian American Journalists Association Asia Chapter (AAJA-Asia) has released its first Stylebook for Gender-Sensitive Reporting to help Asia's journalists portray all genders as equally valued and diverse and better represent our fast-changing world. By doing so, it aims to drive changes in attitudes in news media and positively transform societies.
This stylebook is meant for journalists who want to portray the gender-related elements of their reports in an accurate and neutral manner. It features definition of key gender-related concepts, general guidelines about gender-neutral language, and a glossary of gender-related terms.
The English version of the stylebook is available online. Versions in Chinese, Indonesian, Korean and Tagalog will be added soon.
