Experienced journalists working in Asia can join a network to become certified digital tools trainers.

In partnership with the Google News Initiative (GNI), AAJA-Asia is providing free training and outreach to journalists in Asia looking to improve their reporting skills and employ the latest digital tools in their newsgathering, fact-checking, reporting and storytelling. The AAJA-Asia Training Network currently comprises over 30 certified trainers who have trained over to 4,000 journalists in the Asia Pacific region since the Network's launch in 2019.

Selected participants will attend three train-the-trainer sessions in April that will certify them to lead workshops on using online tools (including Google tools) for reporting and help elevate the skills of journalists across the region.

Two modules are opened for certification:  Digital Tools and Fact-Checking & Source Verification.

Interested applicants must have at least five years of experience in journalism and be active AAJA members by the time the first train-the-trainer session starts.

Apply by April 19.
