Sophie Bonnevialle-Chesneau

Sophie Bonnevialle-Chesneau is a French journalist and copy editor. She is currently the IJNet French Editor, IJNet’s newest language site which she helped launch in May 2020. Previously, she worked for local media outlets in France such as Zoomdici, L’Essor-Affiches and Le Progrès. 

In 2017, Sophie moved to New York City and joined the United Nations as a French publishing assistant. In 2021, she edited the English to French translation of the Membership Puzzle Project guide, a practical, tactical guide to membership models in news, a resource created by Dutch journalism platform De Correspondent and New York University.

Sophie holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Jean Jaurès University in Toulouse. She is also a graduate of ESJ Lille-Montpellier, with a degree in print and digital journalism. She is currently based in France.
