AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards Deadline: August 1, 2016

Organized by the Kavli Foundation, the AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards recognize reporting on sciences, engineering and mathematics. Each category will award a Gold award worth US$5,000 and a Silver award worth US$3,500. Additionally, one winner in each category will receive travel expenses to attend the AAAS Annual Meeting in Boston in February. For more information, click here.

IWMF Adelante reporting fellowship Deadline: August 7, 2016

Women journalists with three or more years of experience can apply to take an all-expenses-paid reporting trip to the northern or southern Mexican border with the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF). Redford Center documentary grants Deadline: August 10, 2016

The Redford Center is offering grants of US$15,000 to filmmakers who want to produce character-driven documentary films on increasing environmental awareness and action. GroundTruth Project film fellowships Deadline: August 15, 2016

Emerging documentary filmmakers can apply for this fellowship, which cultivates original, short films on climate change and its impact on women and children’s health. Fellows will work for four to six weeks, receiving a stipend and all travel expenses. For more information, click here.

Journalism Exchange Program Deadline: August 20, 2016

The Media Development Foundation and MYMEDIA are seeking applications for the 2016 Journalism Exchange Program, which places journalism students and novice journalists in Ukrainian newsrooms. Hostwriter prizes Deadline: August 31, 2016

Hostwriter, a platform that allows journalists to contact each other for collaboration opportunities, is offering cash prizes to works of collaborative journalism and for a promising story pitch.
