Journalists anywhere in the world can apply for two remote opportunities.
openDemocracy is accepting candidates for a six-month data journalism fellowship starting in March as part of its Tracking the Backlash project.
The fellow will receive US$2,100 per month and work 40 hours a week focusing on women’s and LGBTIQ rights-related research, reporting, data entry, data analysis and other tasks for at least two major investigative projects. Women and LGBTIQ people living in East Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus are encouraged to apply.
The organization is also seeking story pitches for its Documenting the Resistance project, which will record and share unreported grassroots activism resisting the backlash to women’s and LGBTIQ rights. Stories in English, Spanish or Portuguese are accepted. Ideas from Africa, Eurasia and Latin America are especially welcome.
