At its core, IJNet strives to be a network for journalists to improve their skills and find new opportunities — no matter what country or walk of life they come from.

When we launched the IJNet Forum in January, we hardly expected our readers to respond so positively. Within its first week, more than 1,000 people from all over the world requested to join the Forum. Since then, the group has grown into a thriving community where journalists of all nationalities and skill levels can connect and share with one another.

As a result, we’ve decided to give IJNet users another space where they can network with each other, forge new connections across borders and discuss what’s going on in their fields: IJNet’s very own Slack community.

Why join?

The IJNet Slack community will have dedicated channels for journalists to post and find opportunities; start discussions about the latest media trends; offer tips and advice to fellow journalists; share achievements they’ve reached in their careers and more.

You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions of fellow journalists, as well as IJNet editors and freelance writers. We want this to be a welcoming space to share ideas and knowledge with each other in order to improve journalism everywhere.

How do I join?

For now, the IJNet Slack community is just in English; if demand is high enough, we can create new communities for any of our other languages.

To join the IJNet Slack group, simply click on the link provided below. You’ll receive an email with further instructions on getting signed up.

Thanks for being a part of the IJNet community!
