Journalism fellowship focuses on fishery, mining [North America]

Journalists interested in natural resources issues can apply for this all-expenses-paid fellowship.

The Institute for Journalism and Natural Resources (IJNR) is accepting applications for a weeklong learning expedition to Bristol Bay, Alaska.

The expedition, which will take place Aug. 31 to Sept. 7, is designed for reporters and editors who are interested in learning firsthand about the various natural resource issues in the region.

Topics include mining in the Bristol Bay watershed; fisheries management, and commercial and subsistence fishing; sports fishing, tourism and the recreation economy; indigenous sovereignty and resources management; salmon ecosystems; climate change; and more.

The deadline is June 26.
