Traditional business models have all but disappeared from journalism, leaving room for new models to take their place. But growing financial pressures, rapidly changing advertising models and increasing competition from platforms makes sustainability a challenge.

With support from Civil, the International Center for Journalists held three workshops in Latin America — in Mexico City, Buenos Aires and São Paulo — focused on these topics.

However, entrepreneurs and journalists that didn’t have a chance to attend have another chance to participate.

On Tuesday, December 11 at 9 a.m. EST, IJNet will host a live webinar on sustainable business models for media startups in Latin America.

The panelists will discuss entrepreneurship trends and case studies from Latin America — focusing on what worked and what didn’t — tips for pitching a startup to funders, and much more.

Are you working on your own project and recently encountered a challenge? Panelists will also answer audience questions, so we encourage you to attend.

Although the webinar will focus specifically on Latin America, it will take place in English and journalists, media specialists and entrepreneurs from around the world are invited to join.

The live webinar will be broadcast on Zoom at 9 a.m. EST on Tuesday, December 11. Register using the form below to watch the webinar on Zoom. It will also be streamed via Facebook Live on the IJNet Facebook page here.
