Kim Wall Memorial Fund Deadline: February 2, 2018

To honor Swedish journalist Kim Wall, the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is offering a grant to women journalists covering stories on subcultures and “the undercurrents of rebellion.” Grantees will also be paired with a mentor for their project. Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists Deadline: February 12, 2018

The Metcalf Institute offers this workshop annually for journalists from all media who want to improve their skills in environmental reporting. The weeklong workshop is held at the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography, where journalists will explore coastal ecosystems, meet with scientists and strengthen their investigative skills. One World Media awards Deadline: February 15, 2018

One World Media will recognize works that draw attention to underreported stories on social, political or cultural life in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, the Middle East and former Soviet republic. Submissions can be from any media platform or genre. To learn more, click here.

Literary reporting grant at NYU Deadline: February 20, 2018

The Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute of New York University (NYU) is looking for early-career nonfiction writers who want to focus on a story that uncovers truths about the human condition. Olympus global photo contest Deadline: February 26, 2018

Future News Worldwide 2018 conference scholarships Deadline: February 28, 2018

Undergraduate and graduate students can apply to attend this conference in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is organized by the British Council and its partners to help young people develop journalism skills and establish the U.K. as a leader in nurturing young media professionals. Knight Science Journalism Fellowship Deadline: February 28, 2018
