Reporters from Brazil, Russia, India, China and Sub-Saharan Africa have an opportunity to apply to the Global Health Reporting Contest from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and supported by Johnson & Johnson. Contest winners will participate in a U.S. study tour, meet with experts in the fields of journalism and global health and receive cash prizes.

Since the program began in 2014, participants have produced more than 820 stories, focusing mainly on maternal and child health, but also diseases, vaccinations and economic and regional disparities in healthcare. In four years, the program has increased the quality and quantity of health coverage on four continents.

Are you interested in applying, but don’t know how to showcase your work? Or maybe you’re unsure whether your stories qualify at all?

To answer these and other questions related to the application process, the program’s organizers will be hosting an IJNet Live chat in the Slack community on Tuesday, October 2 at 9 a.m. EST.

Slack, is an online collaboration platform that encompasses everything from instant messaging to video chat. We launched the IJNet Slack community last May, and this is the second chat we’ll be hosting on the platform. For this event, we’ll only be using the messaging function.

How do I sign up?
